Samples of the Sony Alpha a58

In a previous post (Supplementing my Micro Four-Thirds with a Sony Alpha System), I talked about why I decided to invest in another camera system.  I forgot to mention that I was so impressed with the OMD's sensor (sourced from Sony), I decided to start my research with the SLT.  At the end of the day, the a58 seemed to be the right secondary camera.  Below are some initial sample photos - all taken with the Sony 50mm f1.8, raw.  All have been edited to taste. Please feel free to tell me what you think.

John - ISO 640 @f1.8

ISO 400 - 50mm @f1.8

The cute, Pogi - IS0 1250 @f1.8

Another Pogi shot - ISO 1250 @f1.8
Little Mermaid Statue - ISO 100 @f1,8
Megaman - ISO 100 f1.8
Megman - ISO 100 @f1.8
Ice cream model, Richard - IS0 400 @f1.8

Close up test of Pen film camera - ISO 100 @f1.8
High ISO Test - 3200 @f4 handheld - pretty good image stabilization system

Captain America mug - ISO 100 @f1.8 - converted to B&W in post

HDR Test - Converted in post processing

Testing built in HDR software - ISO 100 @f3.5

So far so good.  Expect an in depth review to come in the next couple of weeks.  I want to give the Sony a58 a thorough test before I rate it.  Please stay tuned.

So say we all,
Dino
